youth of hope
It’s FUNDRAISING SEASON!
Two main reasons why we hold Fundraisers
What are we fundraising for this year?
Last day of confirmation this year is Wednesday May 10th. Classes will begin again in the fall for current 5th-8th graders.
Hope’s current 9th grade confirmation students will celebrate their Affirmation of Baptism this fall on Sunday October 29th.
Confirmation spring mentor event
Hope hosts two organized mentor days a year for confirmation students & their adult mentors. In the spring, mentors and mentees spend time serving together. The plan was to clean up the highways on April 23rd, but when we woke up to 2 inches of snow on the ground, plans changed. Youth and their mentors participated in various service projects inside from cleaning windows, polishing pews, cleaning nursery toys, tying blankets and a couple headed to the WACC to help with painting. We ended the day with ice cream, hot chocolate & a game. A huge thank you to Melanie Rice for hosting a fun game of “Tenzi” with us.
Interested in becoming a confirmation mentor? We have 13 incoming confirmation students next year who will be looking for an awesome mentor. Mentors and mentees are expected to attend two organized events a year and encouraged to meet throughout the year. Next year’s tentative mentor day dates are: Wednesday October 25th, 2017 and Sunday April 22nd, 2018. Talk to Michelle Anderson for more information.
